A Message From The Headteacher, Mrs Tester
A word from the Headteacher
Thank you for logging on to the John Mayne Church of England Primary School website. We hope that you will find it helpful and informative.
Our school is situated in a truly beautiful location between the fine timbered buildings of Biddenden High Street and rolling fields on the edge of the High Weald. The majority of our pupils live in and around the village with a few travelling from further afield. Most of our new admissions into the Reception Class each year have attended Biddenden Pre-school on the school site, with whom we have close links.
At John Mayne we are working hard to provide a broad, stimulating education that supports children in developing good basic skills, healthy lives and a wide range of interests. We take our care for the children very seriously and treat each one as a unique individual. The curriculum is regularly reviewed in order to engage, support, develop and challenge their ability. Over recent years we have seen good improvements in standards, attendance and pupil numbers.
We have wrap around care provided by Biddenden Playschool, and after school clubs provided by Sports Route Coaching.
The physical needs of the children are well provided for with a choice of nutritious lunches cooked freshly on the premises. Nearly all of our children take part in sports clubs and inter-school competitions at some point in the year.
All of the children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument as part of the class curriculum and many also learn additional instruments taught by members of staff in extra-curricular clubs.
The school is very much at the heart of the community and we join in with many village events during the year. We are well supported by parents and other members of the local community.
We have close links with All Saints Church, sharing facilities and working together to care for and support local people.
If you are considering John Mayne Church of England Primary School for your child we warmly invite you to come and see the school at work. Just ring for an appointment!
We look forward to meeting you.
Best wishes
Mrs Helen Tester
